With computers and devices linked together through a network, computer networking has been an essential means of sharing information. Internet can be easily shared across networks allowing any device connected to the network to have connectivity.  This could also be classed as a disadvantage when trying to restrict access on some machines.  This can be overcome by having firewall hardware or software installed on the network.  Devices can be restricted to certain times of the day or can be excluded completely from accessing the internet or other devices (effectively rendering them stand alone).
